Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and platelet-rich gel (PRG) also known as “bio-gel” are procedures that utilize your own growth & healing factors, obtained from a simple blood draw and centrifugation process, which are then injected into the skin or underlying tissue. You may hear PRP termed “liquid gold,” as it is packed full of natural growth and healing factors. Bio-gel is a completely natural gel made from your own plasma. Think of it as a natural filler. It’s also created by centrifuging your blood sample to isolate the growth and healing factors, with additional steps of cooling and heating the plasma without any additives. Once injected into the treatment area, the gel allows for a beneficial slower release, or “extended release” of growth factors.
